You must have a degree or HE qualification. This will enable you to progress onto the Post Graduate Diploma in Careers Guidance. It helped me to get into this type of work by having additional qualifications in Counselling and Mentoring. Additionally it is essential to keep upto date with your professional training. I am currently doing an Advanced Certificate in Careers
Education Guidance and will start the Masters in Careers Education in September.

Every Child Matters
Every Child Matters (ECM) is a new approach to the well-being of children and young people from birth to the age of 19. The Government’s aim is for every child to have the support they need to Be Healthy, Stay Safe, Enjoy and Achieve, Make a Positive Contribution and Achieve Economic Well-Being.
Since September there have been numerous events organised across College which many of you have attended, including the Substance Misuse Awareness Fayre, Children In Need, Sexual
Health Talks and HMP Wellingborough Presentations.
ECM inputs are organised throughout the year and here are some that are coming up:
STI Talk and Chlamydia Screening – 12 March This will be taking place at Kingsland Campus
Mental Health Week 7 – 11 April 2008.

No Smoking Day– 12th March
The NHS Smoking Cessation Service will have a ‘stand’ at Main Site in college on the 27th February 2008. There will be information, freebies and advice given by Clive Doutrey. This will be followed up by a session on 5th March, ‘Commit to Quit’, for anyone interested in giving up smoking on ‘No Smoking Day’. Clive will be able to discuss the help and support available to you.
